    Hayriye ALTUNAY, M.D.

Dr. Altunay started her residency training at the Department of Infectious Diseases & Clinical Microbiology, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2014. She completed the program in 2020. She has been working as a specialist doctor at the Ministry of Health since 2022.

    Merve Çağlayan AYAZ, M.D.

Dr. Ayaz started her residency training at the Department of Infectious Diseases & Clinical Microbiology, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2015. She completed the program in 2020. She worked as a specialist doctor at Ankara State Hospital from 2020 to 2022. She is currently a lecturer at the Department of Infectious Diseases & Clinical Microbiology, Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine.

Areas of Interest: Infections in patients with hematological malignancies and solid organ transplant recipients, infective endocarditis, and adult immunization.

    Zahit TAŞ, M.D.

Dr. Taş started his residency training at the Department of Infectious Diseases & Clinical Microbiology, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2016. He completed the program in 2021. He has been working as a specialist doctor at Çermik State Hospital since 2021. 

Areas of Interest: Infections in patients with hematological malignancies and solid organ tumors, febrile neutropenia, and clinical decision support systems.

    Gamze GÜRSOY, M.D.

Dr. Gürsoy started her residency training at the Department of Infectious Diseases & Clinical Microbiology, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2016. She also started Masters Program in Basic Immunology at Hacettepe University Oncology Institute the same year. Dr. Gürsoy completed the ID program in 2021. She has been working as a specialist doctor at Ardahan State Hospital since 2021. 

Areas of Interest: Antimicrobial stewardship and infection immunology. Honors & Awards: 2nd place in Enver Tali Çetin Junior Researcher Contest (KLIMIK 2022), Award for Prof. Dr. Şeref Zileli the Best Publication from the Graduate Thesis (2023), and 1st place in Prof. Dr. Kenan Midilli Thesis Contest (2023).

    Gizem KARAHAN, M.D.

Dr. Karahan started her residency training at the Department of Infectious Diseases & Clinical Microbiology, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2016. She completed the ID program in 2021. She has been working as a specialist doctor at the Ministry of Health State Hospital since 2022. In 2023, Dr. Karahan started Masters Program in Health Law at Ankara University. She works on legal liability arising from healthcare-associated infections and medical pratice errors. She is a member of CMV infection management and HIV/AIDS research groups. She has her second university major in Photography. Areas of Interest: HIV and CMV, infection epidemiology, infection prevention, health law.

Farida AHMADOVA, M.D.

Dr. Ahmadova graduated from Azerbaijan Medical University Faculty of General Medicine in 2013. She started her residency training at the Department of Infectious Diseases & Clinical Microbiology, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2017, and completed the program in 2023

Areas of Interest: Skull base osteomyelitis, infectious complications in the immunocompromised host.

   Mertcan UZUN, M.D.

Dr. Uzun graduated from Hacettepe University  Faculty of Medicine in 2016. He started his residency training at the Department of Infectious Diseases & Clinical Microbiology, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2017, and completed the program in 2023.

Areas of Interest: Opportunistic infections in PLWH, and side effects of antiretrovirals.

 Tuğba SARICAOĞLU PAMUKÇU, M.D.

Dr. Sarıcaoğlu Pamukçu graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2017. She started her residency training at the Department of Infectious Diseases & Clinical Microbiology, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2018 and completed the program in 2024. She has 4 publications in national and international journals, and two book chapters. 

Areas of Interest: Carbapenem resistance in gram negative bacilli, invasive fungal diseases.

   Ahmet Görkem ER, M.D.

Dr. Er graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2010. He completed his internal medicine residency training at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2016. He worked as an internist at Karaman State Hospital to fulfill the mandatory service obligation from 2016 to 2018. Dr. Er started his second residency training at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Department of Infectious Diseases & Clinical Microbiology in 2018 and his Ph.D. in medical informatics at METU (Middle East Technical University) in 2019. He completed the residency and Ph.D. program in 2024. He continues his studies as a Fulbright scholar at Stanford University School of Medicine Center for Biomedical Informatics Research. Areas of Interest: Tuberculosis, HIV infection, machine learning applications in healthcare, multi-scale data fusion, and development of clinical decision support systems. Honors & Awards: Prof. Dr. Şeref Zileli Resident of the Year Award (2015)
